Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra
Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra, a powerful 90 minute relaxation practice
Service Description
Restorative yoga is a gentle, slow-paced practice that uses props like blankets and bolsters to completely support the body in poses held for extended periods, promoting deep relaxation and stress relief. Unlike more active styles, its goal is to activate the body's "rest and digest" nervous system, which helps the body and mind recover and find balance through stillness and deep breathing. Yoga Nidra is a form of meditation where you don't need to move, just lie back and relax on your mat as the mind and body are led into a state of deepening rest. One Nidra session can provide the equivalent of up to 2-4 hours of sleep. Our brain waves and heart rate slow down, our blood pressure lowers, our dopamine levels increase, our autonomic nervous system calms, leaving you feeling blissfully relaxed. We will practice some gentle breathwork and enjoy 90 minutes of peace in a warm hall, lit by candlelight. Please bring your Yoga mat and a pair of blocks. A blanket is recommended, maybe a cushion, or whatever you would like to feel cosy and comfortable. Please arrive 5 minutes prior to class and ensure that your mobile phone is switched off. PLEASE NOTE you can pay or book using TWO of your class passes.
